More patients wait for bowel cancer test: The number of patients waiting for a colonoscopy rose by 23.3% from March 2014 to March 2015, from 28 578 to 35 245, figures from NHS England show, while the number waiting for flexi-sigmoidoscopy rose by 20.5%, from 15 354 to 18 496 patients. Over the same period the proportion of patients waiting more than six weeks for the tests rose from 2.3% to 5.7% for colonoscopy and from 1.8% to 6.8% for flexi-sigmoidoscopy.
