If I ruled the NHS I would repeal the Health and Social Care Act 2012 in a heartbeat. It was a disingenuous, poisonous piece of legislation that helped no one but corporate profiteers. Competition and the market have routinely failed to deliver equitable, cheap, and efficient healthcare in other countries and should therefore be excised from the NHS. The act was politically and ideologically motivated and should never have been introduced. Similarly, the tortuous, labyrinthine bureaucracy of commissioning must be ended.
