Roopendra Kumar Prasad (“Ruban”) was a much loved general practitioner in Preston for more than 30 years and an enthusiastic and active member of the BMA, which he joined in 1974. Ruban was a member of the BMA’s Council from 1998 to 2001 and of its General Practitioners Committee (formerly the General Medical Services Committee) between 1992 and 2003. On the GPC, he served on the hospital and special services, practice premises, and representation subcommittees. He had also been a member of the BMA’s international committee.
Ruban was a lovely man, always positive and with an infectious smile. He never spoke ill of colleagues, and they in turn were immensely fond of him. …
