Drug firms must cut price of pneumonia vaccine, says MSF

The global drug companies GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer are being urged to cut the price of the pneumonia vaccine in poor countries to less than $5 (£3.30; €4.61) a child.

The charity Médecins Sans Frontières has launched a campaign calling on the companies to be transparent about the amount they charge for the vaccine. It said that the lowest price it was aware of was around $10 a dose. The charity also claimed that the firms stop countries disclosing the price they pay for the vaccine.
