The United Kingdom must revive the “spirit of 1945” to preserve the NHS as a publicly funded and publicly provided institution, the People’s Convention for the NHS has heard.
More than 100 campaigners met in central London on Saturday 11 April to call for a united, nationwide effort to halt and roll back privatisation, funding cuts, and service closures. The People’s Convention for the NHS is an umbrella organisation supported by groups such as the People’s Assembly against Austerity, Keep Our NHS Public, People’s March for the NHS, various trade unions, and community campaigns.
