After qualifying and completing her house jobs at Eastbourne and Jersey, Margaret Cooper (“Maggie”; née Butler) started a senior house officer rotation in anaesthetics at Guy’s Hospital and progressed to a registrar post at St Mary’s Hospital, Portsmouth.
