Most people who are prescribed adrenaline (epinephrine) for severe allergic reactions use their autoinjectors incorrectly, says a US study that found similar levels of incorrect use of metered dose inhalers by people with asthma.
Researchers asked 102 adults prescribed autoinjectable adrenaline to treat anaphylaxis caused by allergy either in themselves or in their children to demonstrate how they used the device, and then evaluated their technique against established standards.1 All participants were enrolled from …
