Charity calls for alcoholic drinks labels to state calories: The charity the Royal Society for Public Health has called for the drinks industry and the newly appointed EU health commissioner, Neven Mimica, to put calorie content on alcoholic drinks in a bid to reduce obesity. The European Commission has said it will decide by December 2014 whether to extend nutrition labelling (including calories) on alcoholic products.
