Scottish IT project is late and over budget: A major information technology contract for Scotland’s NHS 24 telephone and online advice service is running two years late and is expected to cost almost twice the original budget. A report from Audit Scotland blames management weaknesses for contributing to the problems.1 The original projected cost was £29m (€37m; $47m), but it is now estimated that completion will cost £52m.
