Specialists launch initiative to improve palliative care in Europe

More than 80 groups and individuals involved in palliative care have signed a declaration to try to improve such care across the European Union.
At an international conference in Brussels they endorsed the 2014 European Declaration on Palliative Care,1 which made 10 recommendations including that:
Palliative care policies that have traditionally been rooted in cancer programmes should also be included in policies on healthy ageing, long term care, or dementia
