GMC lays out charges against headache doctor in research misconduct case

A lead investigator in a clinical trial that led to a renowned libel case that helped to change English defamation law now faces allegations of research misconduct in a hearing that opens this month.

Andrew Dowson, a headache specialist who co-led the MIST (Migraine Intervention with STARFlex Technology) trial with a cardiologist, Peter Wilmshurst, is due to appear at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester for an eight week hearing starting on 29 October.
