Hospital trusts are failing to monitor common infections

NHS acute care trusts in England are failing to monitor and assess the effects of several hospital acquired infections that pose a threat to patients, a new report has concluded.

Many trusts are ignorant of the full scale of hospital infections, says the report, published on 15 September by the Medical Technology Group, a coalition of patients’ groups, research charities, and medical device manufacturers.
