India’s finance minister has laid out new measures in the budget for 2014-15 to strengthen the country’s medical infrastructure and restrict the use of tobacco.
In the budget, announced in parliament on 10 July, Arun Jaitley said that 15 model rural health research centres would be established to provide better healthcare facilities in non-urban areas. The centres will carry out research on local health issues, he said. …
