Government advisers to review recommendation on sugar in diet: The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition, which advises the UK government on nutrition, is reviewing dietary advice for sugar and other carbohydrates. The current UK dietary recommendation is that sugar (including added sugar and free sugars in fruit juices and honey) should make up no more than 10% of daily energy intake. The committee is expected to report this summer.
