Labour Party calls for action as a fifth of hospitals fail inspections

A fifth of hospitals in England are failing inspections of the standard of care, and a sixth of hospitals operate below safe staffing levels, show figures released by the Labour Party.
Data from the Care Quality Commission showed that there had been a sharp decline in standards in England’s hospitals over the past 12 months, it said.
