Scientists around the world need to better explain the human costs of climate change in simple terms to “people in the street,” a top UN official has said.
Christiana Figueres, who heads the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, said improving poor communication remained a major challenge for all those working to counter global warming.
“Scientists should be making a big effort to humanise it, to put a human face on climate change,” she said.
This meant describing clearly the impact on people, communities, and cities and avoiding the use of esoteric terms …
