Michelle Deborah Zalkin was educated at Haberdashers Aske’s School for Girls, and St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. She chose a career in paediatrics, undertaking posts in general paediatrics and neonatology, paediatric oncology, endocrinology, and adolescent medicine. It was in community paediatrics, however, where Michelle excelled, developing particular expertise in child maltreatment and complex safeguarding.
Michelle developed a reputation as the leading trainee in child protection in London, establishing herself as both a clinical expert and a respected researcher, achieving recognition from the British Association of the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. …
