Hospital admissions for anxiety rise sharply in people aged over 60, especially women, new data from the Health and Social Care Information Centre have shown.1 Stress, on the other hand, peaks in girls aged 15-19 and in men in their 40s, and it declines significantly in both sexes in older age.
