The authors of this Clinical Review (BMJ 2014;348:g66, doi:10.1136/bmj.g66) have alerted us to an error. They would like to correct the statement “Benzylpenicillin or a cephalosporin should be added in children not immunised against H influenzae,” which is located in the third paragraph of the section “How is osteomyelitis treated?” This sentence should have read: “A second or third generation cephalosporin (e.g. cefuroxime or cefotaxime) should be added in children not immunised against H influenzae.”
