The proportion of the population attending major emergency departments was 65% higher in London than in some other parts of England last year, new figures have shown.
The NHS’s Health and Social Care Information Centre, which published the regionalised figures for 2012-13, said that the disparity across the country was “striking” and warranted further analysis.
