New mobile phone apps target tech savvy Indians to sign up for organ donation

Two applications (apps) for mobile phones were launched in Tamil Nadu last week with the aim of motivating and encouraging Indians to sign up for organ donation.
The Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network (Mohan) Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that promotes and supports deceased organ donation and transplantation in India, launched a mobile app called e-donor card. When a person signs up for organ donation and downloads the app onto their mobile phone, the app displays a donor card on the mobile to encourage the donation of other organs and tissues after death.
