A new initiative to be run in collaboration between India’s state governments and the BBC’s international development charity, BBC Media Action, is to use mobile phones to provide health tips and information related to maternal and child health.
The initiative, aimed at upgrading health services in rural India, has already been introduced in eight districts of Bihar and is likely to be expanded soon to Uttar Pradesh and Orissa.
