GPs in the London borough of Hackney have won their bid to run the out of hours service in the area for the next four years, taking over from private company Harmoni.
Clare Highton, a GP and chair of NHS City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group, said that while she was not involved in the decision about the £6.4m (€7.6m; $10.3) contract, to avoid a conflict of interest, she was delighted with the outcome of the tender.
