Confidence of NHS finance directors to meet targets has plummeted

NHS finance directors are losing faith in their ability to deliver against financial efficiency targets, with confidence plummeting in the past 12 months, says the latest Quarterly Monitoring Report from the health think tank the King’s Fund.1
Just a third (33%) of NHS trust finance directors surveyed for the report were confident about achieving their cost improvement plans for 2013-14, down from almost three quarters (73%) surveyed in the same period last year. …
