Wales passes presumed consent law: Wales will become the first country in the United Kingdom to introduce presumed consent for organ donation, after legislation received royal assent last week. The Welsh government hopes the policy, which will come into force from December 2015, will increase transplantation rates by 25%, although organs retrieved in Wales could go anywhere in the UK.
