Complaints against NHS hospitals in England rose by 2% last year, with NHS organisations in total receiving more than 3000 written grievances a week, new figures show.
Latest annual figures from the Health and Social Care Information Centre show that there were 162 000 written complaints about NHS organisations in England during 2012-13.1
The majority of these (109 000) were made against NHS hospitals and community health services in England, with 2057 more complaints against hospitals than in 2011-12.
