It seems odd that Krafft’s associated editorial adopts such a celebratory tone. He says that many years have been spent “looking for better evidence favouring iron supplementation in pregnancy”1 but does not consider the possibility that the failure of so many studies to find a significant advantage might mean that the value is marginal.
