Ophthalmologist who tried to deflect blame onto others is struck off

A locum ophthalmologist who attempted to blame other doctors for her own inappropriate prescribing has been struck off the UK’s medical register.

Bhavdip Gill was in her first week as a locum staff grade doctor in ophthalmology for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in summer 2009 when she saw “patient A,” a woman in her late 40s who came to the accident and emergency department with a severely inflamed eye.
