An out of hours GP service run by the private company Serco has been criticised again in a new report for failing to provide enough staff to meet demand and forcing employees to work long hours.
Serco said, however, that many improvements had been made to the service in recent months, including recruitment of more GPs.
The main regulator of the NHS, the Care Quality Commission, has investigated the Cudmore House out of hours GP service, which is based in Truro, Cornwall, and found ongoing problems despite previous inspections that called for remedial action.1
