Should the NHS work at weekends as it does in the week? Yes

Yes, NHS should improve services during weekends, but too ambitious to think about providing elective services when we are pathetic in the delivery of acute services during w/e. Improvements can be made without significant cost, but with a cultural change in thinking. Hospitals are full of patients who shouldn't be there and this affects the care we provide to those who need it. At any given time 50-60% of my patients shouldn't be in the hospital and though they may not need much care, their mere presence affects our ability to look after those who need care. This is particularly exposed during weekends.
