Ten thousand patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) are being recruited into a UK network that aims over the next decade to help improve treatment of this condition.
HCV Research UK is a collaboration of almost 40 centres around the UK that aims to provide valuable information that will help researchers to understand the natural progression of the disease. It also plans to work closely with the drug industry on the development of emerging new treatments.
It will supply anonymised clinical information on patients, together with tissue samples, to enable approved researchers to conduct research studies …
