Cyril Karabus, the 78 year old South African doctor detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for allegedly murdering a patient there, has finally returned home after a nine month ordeal.
The paediatric oncologist was arrested in August 2012 while in transit in Dubai and was told that he had been convicted in absentia for killing a patient in Abu Dhabi while working as a locum a decade earlier.
