NICE consults on guidelines for familial breast cancer: The UK National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has begun a consultation on a new draft version of its guideline on familial breast cancer. The updated guideline includes a number of potential new recommendations on issues such as when to offer genetic testing, what surveillance strategies should or should not be offered, and the use of tamoxifen or raloxifene as preventive treatments.
