Sex discrimination claim is wrong in unfair dismissal case

Paradoxically, the sentence passed in this case is correct yet wrong at the same time.1 It is fair that the doctors be reinstated on their previous contract, but accepting that the requirement to do on call work and guarantee coverage 24 hours a day corresponds to sex discrimination is wrong and dangerous. Will women working in emergency departments, intensive care, and indeed all other medical branches be allowed to opt out of night and weekend cover on the basis that this “disproportionately affects women”?
