A High Court judge has quashed a decision to close three children’s heart surgery units in England to concentrate services in fewer but larger units.
Mrs Justice Nicola Davies quashed the decision by the Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts on 4 July 2012 to close units at Leeds, Leicester, and London’s Royal Brompton Hospital and to retain children’s congenital heart surgery at only seven sites.
