While at Queen’s University, Belfast, James Geddis Kernohan (“Jim”) honed his talents for rowing, which were rewarded by a seat in the university’s “first boat.”
He first met his future wife, Sandra in 1971 at the Ulster Hospital, Belfast, where they were both working, Jim as a final year medical student and Sandra as a staff nurse.
