It is stated in [1]: “It was not shown - never - that silver impregnation works.”
In fact, silver impregnation (e.g. methenamine silver stain) is one of the most valuable stains in nephropathology. Unfortunately, renal biopsies have been rarely stained by silver impregnation in the former Soviet Union [2,3].
