Vulnerable groups mustn’t become guinea pigs

Davies reports on a scheme to give trainee surgeons more experience by sending them to work in India, where they can perform “hundreds of operations” on children.1 I do hope, however, that all the proper licensing, supervision, and oversight requirements were fulfilled.

What might seem like “administrative challenges” to the UK consultant in charge of the project might simply be safeguards in place to protect vulnerable groups from becoming guinea pigs.
