Recommendations on what health services should be commissioned nationally from next April have been put forward by clinical specialists.1

The Department of Health said it will consider the list and publish a final set of regulations on what services the NHS Commissioning Board should be responsible for later in the year.

As part of the NHS changes included in the Health and Social Care Act GPs take responsibility for commissioning most patient services through clinical commissioning consortiums from April 2013.
