Aid community is shocked by murder of charity director in South Sudan

Last weekend’s murder of the country director of an international medical charity has added to concerns for the safety of humanitarian personnel in the new country of South Sudan.

Alemayehu Seifu, of the African Medical and Research Foundation, was shot dead by unknown killers on the evening of Saturday 14 January at the gate of his house on the outskirts of the capital city, Juba. The killers made off with his car and other personal belongings.
