GPs back withdrawal of health reform bill

More than 98% of respondents to an online survey think that the Royal College of General Practitioners should call for the Health and Social Care Bill to be withdrawn, as part of a joint approach with other colleges.

Even without a joint approach more than 90% of respondents still said they either strongly supported or supported the college in proceeding alone in calling for the bill’s withdrawal.

This is the third poll carried out by the college, and with 2600 completed responses it is its largest yet. More than 60% of doctors said that they felt more negative about the effect of the bill on the NHS than they did at the time of the college’s …
