BMA to ballot on industrial action over pensions in May

The BMA has announced that it will “very reluctantly” ballot its members on whether they are willing to provide only urgent and emergency care for a day should the government fail to reopen talks on the NHS pension scheme.

In the ballot on 14 to 29 May the association will ask doctors whether they are prepared to take industrial action by going into work as scheduled but not undertaking duties that could safely be postponed.
