The former chairman of the department of neuroscience and physiology at State University of New York’s Upstate Medical University has been sanctioned by the US Office of Research Integrity (ORI) for fabricating and falsifying data in federally funded research.
Michael Miller falsified or fabricated data in four grant applications, two published studies, and a paper submitted for publication to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, says a case summary from the ORI published on its website and in the Federal Register (www.federalregister.gov/articles/2012/02/27/2012-4366/findings-of-research-misconduct#p-14).
