HIV groups have much to teach hepatitis doctors about better diagnosis and treatment

Hepatitis specialists have identified advocacy and surveillance as the most urgent priorities to tackle the global burden of viral hepatitis. Patients, doctors, and advocates should take a leaf out of the HIV community’s book in generating a political response to the disease, says Charles Gore, president of the World Hepatitis Alliance, a patients’ advocacy group.
