Public health experts predict NHS reforms could lead to “chaos”

Most experts in public health have condemned the NHS reforms, saying they could make it harder to reduce health inequalities and to respond to emergencies.

A survey of almost 1000 public health specialist members of the UK Faculty of Public Health—the standard setting body for these clinicians—found little support for the reforms.

The faculty surveyed its members on the reforms contained in the Health and Social Care Bill, which is currently being scrutinised by the House of Lords as it progresses through parliament on its way to becoming law next year.
