A quarter of diabetic patients miss out on annual foot checks, UK survey warns

One in four patients with diabetes have not had their feet checked in the previous year, despite annual foot checks being recommended as part of routine care to prevent complications, a new UK online survey shows.

Diabetes UK surveyed people with diabetes who were in contact with the charity between 8 September and 8 November 2011, asking them about 15 healthcare checks and specialist services that it considers essential to good care.
