North America’s only legal supervised injection site is to stay open: On 30 September Canada’s top court unanimously ruled to allow Insite, North America’s only supervised safe injection facility for drug users, to continue operating in Vancouver. British Columbia’s health minister welcomed this “wise and humane ruling,” as did the Canadian Medical Association, local health officials, advocates, and users.
