In this Research Methods & Reporting article by David Moher and colleagues (*BMJ* 2010;340:c869, doi:[10.1136/bmj.c869](http://www.bmj.com/lookup/doi/10.1136/bmj.c869)) a minor error occurred in table 3. In the fourth row (“Treatment allocation”), the text in the second and third cells should be “Participants who received [not ‘completed’] treatment as allocated, by study group” and “Participants who did not receive [not ‘complete’] treatment as allocated, by study group” respectively.
