Government is still “listening” as NHS Future Forum continues work

Doctors’ and managers’ bodies have welcomed news that the NHS Future Forum is to continue.

The government announced that the independent group, led by the GP Steve Field, would continue its “listening exercise” on the future of the NHS in England and would expand its remit to include education and training, information, integrated care, and public health.

Professor Field said, “If we want the health and care system to change and meet the challenges of the future, then it is essential that we make sure that the thoughts and concerns of clinicians and, importantly, patients and service users, are listened to. …
