Police are investigating the deaths of three patients at Stepping Hill hospital in Stockport, Greater Manchester, after saline solution was found to be deliberately contaminated with insulin.
A nurse at the hospital contacted the police on 12 July after she noticed abnormally high numbers of patients on her ward with low blood sugar concentrations and discovered that ampoules of saline solution had been tampered with.
